Vimlike, in detail.

Vimlike is a Safari extension for iPhone, iPad, Mac and Vision Pro that puts vim's keyboard on every web page, adds one bar for search and the AI, and lets you shape each website — by hand, with a signed site pack, or by asking the AI. These pages are the reference: every key, every setting, and how the pieces fit.

Five minutes to start

  1. Install Vimlike from the App Store and turn it on in Safari › Settings › Extensions. The app's Setup page walks through it on each device.
  2. On any page, press j and k to scroll, f to label every link, and type a label to open it. ? shows the cheat sheet; Esc always returns to Normal mode.
  3. Press o for the bar. Type to search your tabs, history and the web; press ⌘↩ to ask the AI about the page instead. : opens the command palette.
  4. Open the toolbar popup on a site you use a lot. Install its site pack if one is offered, or press Suggest shortcuts and let the AI propose keys for that site's places — try them, then save.
  5. In the app, Settings › Keyboard remaps anything in a table; Settings › AI Assistant picks a provider (Apple Intelligence needs no key).

The reference

How the pieces fit

Three layers, each one on top of the last:

The AI assistant sits across all three. It answers in the bar, runs saved commands, and — on a site — proposes keys and styles that land in the website's own settings, never in a pack.

Platforms and requirements

iOS and iPadOS 16.6 or later, macOS 13 or later, visionOS. A hardware keyboard is the point on iPad; on iPhone the toolbar popup, site packs and the AI still work without one. Settings sync through your own iCloud when you let them.

Vimlike has no account and no server of its own. What the search bar searches stays on your device; what you ask the AI goes to the provider you chose and nowhere else.
