Privacy Policy

This privacy policy explains what information Geek Browser handles, where it
goes, and what choices you have. Geek Browser is published by Jasmine Studios.

TL;DR
- Geek Browser has no account and no server of ours. We never see your browsing.
- The app contains no analytics or tracking SDK. (Our marketing website uses basic Google Analytics — see “Website analytics” below.)
- History, bookmarks, tabs, settings, saved commands and the assistant’s memory files live on your iPad and, if you turn on iCloud sync, in your own iCloud account.
- The AI assistant sends the text of the page you are on, your question, and the tabs you @-mention to the AI provider you chose. With Apple Intelligence on-device, nothing leaves the iPad.
- Passwords are never sent to any AI provider. Sign-in happens in the page with iCloud Keychain; the assistant stops at sign-in pages and hands you the tab.
- We do not sell, share, or resell anything.
1. Browsing data you create
History, bookmarks, open tabs, per-site settings, saved commands and key
bindings are stored on your device. If you enable iCloud, some of them sync
through your private iCloud container, which only your Apple ID can read.
Jasmine Studios has no access to it.
Websites you visit see what any browser tells them (your IP address, the
user agent, cookies they set). Geek Browser ships a content blocker, on by
default, that removes common ad and tracker requests; you can turn it off
per site or globally in Settings › Privacy.
2. AI assistant (optional, user-initiated)
Nothing is sent until you ask the assistant something or give it a task.
When you do, the request contains:
- the text and structure of the page in the current tab (and the ✦ working tab while a task runs),
- your question or instruction,
- the text of any other open tab you @-mention,
- your standing preferences and the notes for the current site from the memory files (the daily log is not included).
It goes to the provider you selected in Settings › AI Assistant:
- Apple Intelligence (on-device) — processed on your iPad; nothing is transmitted. Off by default; turn on “Reading tasks on this device”.
- Claude, OpenAI, Gemini or DeepSeek — with your own API key, sent directly from the app to that provider under their privacy terms. Your key is kept in the device Keychain and is not synced to iCloud.
Before a consequential action — leaving the site, submitting a form,
purchasing, posting, opening tabs, saving a command — the assistant asks
first, unless you chose Full access for that run. The assistant never
receives passwords or passkeys.
Memory files are plain markdown in the app’s Documents folder on the
device. You can open, edit, or delete them at any time.
3. Website analytics
Our marketing website (jasminestudios.net/geek-browser) uses Google
Analytics to measure basic, aggregate visit statistics (page views,
approximate region, referrer). This applies to the website only — not
to the app — and is subject to
Google’s privacy policy. You can
block it with any content blocker or by opting out of analytics cookies.
What we do not do
- We do not have user accounts, sign-ups, or sign-ins.
- We do not collect your name, email, phone number, or contacts.
- We do not see, store, or log your browsing history or the pages you visit.
- We do not track you across other apps or websites.
- We do not sell, rent, or share your data.
- We do not show advertising.
- We do not use any third-party analytics, attribution, or A/B-testing SDK in the app (our website uses basic Google Analytics — see §3).
Children’s privacy
Geek Browser is rated 17+ because it is an unrestricted web browser. It does
not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children.
Your choices
- Clear browsing data — Settings › Privacy lets you clear history, cookies and website data.
- Stop using the assistant — Simply don’t ask it anything; the browser works fully without it. Or keep only “Reading tasks on this device” on, so nothing leaves the iPad.
- Remove an API key — Settings › AI Assistant › your provider › Remove key.
- Delete memory files — Settings › AI Assistant › Memory, or delete the files in the app’s Documents folder via the Files app.
- Stop using iCloud sync — Turn off iCloud for Geek Browser in iPadOS Settings → Apple ID → iCloud.
- Remove the app — Long-press the icon → Delete App. This removes the on-device data. iCloud-stored data remains in your account until you remove it via Settings → Apple ID → iCloud → Manage Storage.
Changes to this policy
If we make material changes, we will update the “Last updated” date at the
top and, when significant, surface a note inside the app on next launch.
